  • Electives: Animal Club

    Published 25/11/22

Animal Club is an elective for all students who are passionate about animals.

Delivered by Ms Bowden, this elective gives students the chance to learn more about the animals we know and love whilst also discovering new species. This week, students have learnt about bird courtship rituals. Their favourite fact is that Manakins can moonwalk and the Lyre bird can mimic sounds like car alarms and camera shutters!

This elective develops each student’s understanding of various animals and gives them the opportunity to study a new species of their choice.

    Published 18/11/22

Co-op Academy Belle Vue is committed to supporting our local community. Community Care is an elective designed to show students why it’s important to have strong communities.

Delivered by Mrs Hibbert, the theme of this elective is climate change and sustainability. Students are working to identify ways that we can work together to build stronger and more sustainable communities. The students hear from our Community and Partnerships Manager so they can support our academy with the development of our community plan, but also so they can see there are career opportunities within community care.

This elective develops each student’s understanding of communities and the need to create sustainable environments, all whilst building team working skills.

  • Electives: Mini Apprentice

    Published 11/11/22

Every student at Co-op Academy Belle Vue takes part in our exciting and varied electives programme. Electives are period five school clubs that ensure our students take part in extracurricular activities. Electives change every half-term. Each week we’re going to focus a news story on a different elective so you can see the variety of sessions we deliver.

Lead by Mr Hafekost, Mini Apprentice is an elective focused on raising each student’s awareness of the business world and developing a entrepreneurial skill-set. By exploring unique selling points and marketing techniques, this elective encourages students to be creative.

Using the Nike Face ID app, students designed their own trainers. We asked our online community to help us choose which entry deserved to win. Our winning apprentice was Entry 2! Thank you to everyone who voted.
