Careers Guidance Meetings Begin for Year 10 Students at Co-op Academy Belle Vue
Published 15/11/24Co-op Academy Belle Vue is excited to announce the launch of one-to-one careers guidance meetings for our Year 10 students. These personalised sessions are part of the academy’s commitment to supporting every student in making informed decisions about their future.
Starting this week, Year 10 students will have the opportunity to meet with a dedicated careers advisor to explore their interests, strengths, and aspirations. During these sessions, students will receive tailored advice on subjects such as further education, apprenticeships, work experience, and long-term career goals.
Why Careers Guidance Matters
Careers guidance is an essential part of preparing students for life beyond school. These meetings aim to:
- Help students understand their options after GCSEs.
- Identify skills and interests that align with potential career paths.
- Build confidence and knowledge to make informed decisions about their futures.
By offering these personalised meetings, we empower students to take ownership of their education and career planning, ensuring they have the tools to achieve their ambitions.
How It Works
- When? Sessions will take place during the school day, and each meeting will last approximately 20–30 minutes. Each student is given an appointment logged on their Arbor timetable and communicated in Ambition Briefing.
- Who? All Year 10 students will meet with a trained careers advisor, who will provide expert guidance tailored to their individual needs.
- What Next? Students will leave the meeting with actionable steps and resources to help them explore their options further.
A Future-Focused Approach
Miss Osbourne, who is leading the programme, said:
"These careers guidance meetings are a vital part of helping our students realise their potential. By starting these conversations early, we can ensure that every student has a clear understanding of the opportunities available to them and how to achieve their goals."Work Experience Coming Soon
As part of our careers programme, Year 10 students will also be participating in work experience placements later this academic year. These placements, alongside the careers guidance meetings, aim to give students valuable insights into the world of work and inspire them to dream big.
Stay Connected
We encourage parents and carers to discuss the outcomes of these meetings with their children and support them in researching and exploring future pathways. For more information about our careers programme, please contact Miss Osbourne or visit our Careers and Guidance section on the academy website.
Co-op Academy Belle Vue remains committed to nurturing ambition and achievement in all our students. We look forward to seeing the positive impact of this initiative on our Year 10 cohort!
