Empowering Safe Cycling with Bikeability Workshops

At Co-op Academy Belle Vue, we are committed to fostering the holistic personal development of our students, equipping them with essential life skills.

As part of our comprehensive Personal Development Programme, we have partnered with Bikeability to deliver dynamic cycle safety workshops at levels one, two, and three. This is to support the aim of our personal development programme to produce physically healthy and mentally well citizens of modern Britain who actively contribute to society and know how to keep themselves and others safe.

Recognising the unique geography of our catchment area, where some students rely on cycling as their primary mode of transportation, we are thrilled to announce the launch of free cycle safety workshops.

The workshops cater to students at all levels, whether they are seasoned cyclists or those new to the world of biking. For those who pedal their way to school or regularly cycle outside of school hours, this initiative is designed to enhance their confidence and competence on the road.

Cycling not only benefits individual health and fitness but also contributes positively to the community and the environment. By imparting essential safety skills, we aim to encourage cycling as a sustainable and health-conscious mode of transport.

We understand that some students may not yet possess the skill of riding a bike. Hence, our workshops extend to beginners, ensuring that every student has the opportunity to acquire this invaluable lifelong skill in a supportive and encouraging environment.

This offer supports our CARE principles and the values of the Co-op Academies Trust.
