Attendance Success

First and foremost, I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to all of you for your incredible support in making last week one of the most remarkable weeks of this academic year. With your dedication and commitment, we achieved a staggering 97% attendance rate – our best so far. This is truly commendable, and I urge you all to keep up this excellent momentum throughout the year.

I'm thrilled to announce that we have launched an exciting attendance challenge this week. Students who maintain a perfect attendance record for the first half of this term will have the opportunity to win a fantastic £300 voucher. Encourage your child to be a part of this challenge, as it not only enhances their chances of winning but also fosters a strong sense of commitment to their education. 

Andy Burnham, Mayor of Greater Manchester Visit

Last week, we had the privilege of hosting a visit from Mr. Andy Burnham, the Mayor of Greater Manchester. Our students impressed him with their thought-provoking questions about ways to improve our beloved city. Their enthusiasm and curiosity were truly inspiring.

Co-op Executive Board and CEO Visit

We had a visit from the Coop Executive board and our CEO, Dr. Chris Tomlinson, who was so impressed with our students' behaviour and the culture we had set at the school that he donated £1,000 to buy more books for our library. Dr. Chris Tomlinson was amazed by our community read session and loved that we have chess tables on our corridors, with students taking care of them throughout the day.

Effective Learning Habits

In our recent ambition briefings, we equipped our students with effective study techniques, including the "look, cover, write, check" method and creating their own flashcards. Soon, we will be sharing a video with our families on how to support your child's studies at home. Keep an eye out for this valuable resource and engage with your child in their ambition sheets and knowledge expert sheets.

School Photos

Looking ahead, we have our school photos scheduled for Wednesday 27th September. It is imperative that every student comes to school in their full school uniform on this day. For those with PE or a physical elective, please ensure they bring their PE kit. Information on how to purchase your child's photos will be shared with you shortly.

Year 7 Settling-In Evening

On Thursday evening, we have our Year 7 Settling-In Evening. Detailed information about this event will be provided to Year 7 families by Mrs. Hibbert, our Vice Principal, later this week.

Student Leadership Team

Lastly, I am thrilled to announce that we have appointed our first-ever Student Leadership Team. After a rigorous selection process, we are immensely proud of the students chosen for these roles. The process now begins for those aspiring to become Head Student and Deputy Head Student. I am eagerly looking forward to witnessing our students' campaigns for these positions. Mr. Haste will be sharing more information about this exciting development shortly.
