Two of our exceptional students, Eyad and Ibrahim, represented Co-op Academy Belle Vue at the prestigious Culinary Competition held at 1 Angel Square – the heart of the Co-op Group.

As the youngest finalists they could have been overwhelmed. But instead, they showed remarkable courage, creativity and character.

Working in the state-of-the-art Co-op test kitchens, side by side with the new product development chefs, they were challenged to design a meal deal consisting of a sandwich and a smoothie. Despite initial nerves, they impressed everyone with their politeness, endeavour, and impressive ideas.

While they didn’t walk away with the top prize this time, they’ve left with something far more valuable – belief, experience and ambition. In their own words, they’ve already signed up for next year’s competition “so we can go back better and win!”
