Inspiring Future Global Citizens: Our Trip to HOME Cinema
Our pupils recently enjoyed a special trip to HOME cinema in Manchester for a screening of the film Generation Trust. Guided by session leaders Bronwyn Lane and Rachel Hayward, alongside online guest speakers, our young people explored how youth leadership can change the world.
During the screening, pupils watched the real-world stories of five young leaders across Pakistan, Liberia, Uganda, Colombia, and Bolivia. These inspiring young people are actively working to rebuild local systems of food, energy, transport, and education.
The film demonstrated what can happen when young people are trusted to take the lead. It showed how communities can pull together, overcome systemic barriers, and create lasting change through trust and global cooperation.
At Co-op Academy Belle Vue, we believe in helping pupils succeed in life, not just in school. Giving our young people access to real-world stories of ambition and leadership helps them discover their own potential as responsible global citizens.
We are incredibly proud of how thoughtfully our pupils engaged with these big themes. Experiences like this show our young people that their voices matter and that they have the power to shape the future of their own community.
