Young Green Briton Challenge Design Sprint Workshop

Year 8 Environmental Champions Design Solutions for a Greener Future
Our Year 8 pupils recently took part in an inspiring Young Green Briton workshop. Working in small teams, they rolled up their sleeves to explore local environmental issues that matter most to them and brainstormed creative solutions to tackle them.
During the design sprint, pupils investigated real-world challenges, such as reducing waste, improving green spaces, and cutting carbon emissions. Working together, each team picked a problem, researched the facts, and designed their own innovative ideas to make a positive difference in our community.
Events like this give our young people a platform to think big, share their voices, and develop practical skills for the future. By working side-by-side, pupils learned how to listen to different ideas, test their plans, and present their final solutions with confidence.
It was wonderful to see our pupils receive so much support to fine-tune their ideas throughout the day. Hearing staff and guests celebrate their hard work and success gave everyone a real confidence boost. Our Year 8 teams showed incredible ambition and co-operation every step of the way.
At Co-op Academy Belle Vue, we believe in helping pupils grow into active, responsible global citizens who care for their environment. We are so proud of the care, effort, and teamwork our Year 8 pupils showed.
